Most people started hearing about the raids in the most recent article from the Washington Post in late December. However, ICE's Immigration Raids have been happening and have increased in New York City. There have been claims coming from New York City agencies including New York Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs mentioning that there have not been such raids in New York City.
This past year in 2015, Families for Freedom has seen an increase in Home Raids by Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) in all the five boroughs of New York City and Long Island.
Since President Obama and Secretary of Department of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson announced Priority Enforcement Program on November 20, 2014, raids targeting noncitizens with prior criminal convictions have increased. These raids have terrorized families throughout New York City.
· ICE comes between 5 and 8 a.m. to people's homes.
· ICE does not always identify as ICE but as police dressed in regular clothes with badge.
· ICE has also been going to court houses.
Since 2002, Families for Freedom (FFF) has worked with families and their loved ones to fight deportations. FFF has been working with families impacted by these raids since some families were taken during Operation Cross Check in March 2015.

Families for Freedom collected stories from those directly impacted by the recent raids.
Big Props to our Families for Freedom members who were willing to share their story and our writers and photographers to expose the truth of ICE in our communities.
