Families for Freedom stands with the victims of the Buffalo mass shooting and their families. As we all know by now, this senseless act of violence and disregard for human life is rooted in the racism and white supremacy that runs rampant in this country. Black and Brown lives continue to be threatened every day. Those who lost their lives on May 14th did not deserve to meet a violent end as they tried to perform a simple and essential task: getting groceries. They were all valued and loved by their families and their communities. The white, racist gunman who took their lives refused to see their value and only held hate for them in his heart.
As we continue to process more tragic loss of life, and the continued traumas that our communities face over and over again, we are reminded that the fight for our humanity is still a long way from ending. FFF wants to remember and honor those who were taken from us by holding a candlelight vigil in NYC on June 14th.
Date: June 14(Tuesday)
Time: Noon-1pm
Location: Washington Square Park
We hope you will all be able to stand with us in solidarity as we remember those we have lost to the hate that continues to plague this country.
