Join Our Board

Want to be a part of the FFF decision-making team to help out? Consider joining our board.

Responsibilities:

The properties, affairs and activities of Families For Freedom are governed by the Board of Directors.  The Board meets at least quarterly and more often as needed.  Board Members may also serve on committees (Finance, Personnel, etc) and may be required to meet additionally and do work necessary to support the ongoing health of the organization.  The Board hires the Executive Director and provides oversight for operation of the organization.

Note: The Members of the Board of Directors serve in a voluntary capacity. There is no salary or financial reimbursement provided for their service.

Any candidates who are elected will receive training and support as they transition into their responsibilities on the Board.

Campaign with us

Families for Freedom is committed to base building within the community and collaborating on campaigns with like minded organizations in New York City and around the country. A major component of our work relies on forging alliances and developing practical strategies for the liberation of members of our community caught up in the brutal immigration enforcement system. In collaboration with lawyers, social workers, academics, students, religious leaders, fellow organisers, elected officials and members of the general public and we have successfully

  • Campaigned for the release of detainees held in ICE facilities

  • Organized vital know your rights workshops with immigrant community members

  • Held important meetings with elected local officials on the importance of passing legislation which protects immigrant New Yorkers from the damaging effects of the federal immigration system

  • Rallied with allied organizers on the streets of New york and beyond for the end of ICE raids into out communities and the detention and deportation
