Reflecting Upon Black August
Black August is a remembrance of the struggle that the black community has faced throughout American history. It is the time for those that relate to the liberation of African-Americans to remember all the people, including activists, organizers, and freedom fighters, that sacrificed their own lives during that fight for freedom and equality.
Support for Recent Migrants
Last month, Governor George Abbott announced that he would start busing migrants from Texas to New York City. As a result, Families for Freedom has received an influx of requests for help from individuals who were transported to New York and left to fend for themselves. We are beginning an initiative to support these individuals in the best way possible.
For one, we are asking our allies to donate resources such as clothing, shoes, toiletries, Metro Cards and funds to distribute to the migrants in need.
If you know any individuals who are in need of support, please advise them to reach out to us.
